How can I prevent reservations from specific guests?

If you don't want to accept any future reservations from certain customers, you can block their profile by following these steps:

 

1. Open the customer's profile.

2. Go to the Internals tab.

3. Under Classifications, select Blocklist.

4. Click Save.

 

Note: you cannot add charges or products to blocklisted profiles. For example, if you charge a blocklisted guest for damages, you are not able to add the damage fee or reflect the payment on that guest's bill.

 

 

What if a blocklisted customer tries to make a reservation?

 

If an employee tries to create a reservation for the blocklisted guest in Mews Operations, the following error message appears, and the reservation is not created: "Cannot create or receive orders from blocklisted customers".

 

If the customer tries to make a reservation through the Booking Engine using the email address connected to their blocklisted profile, they receive the following message, and the reservation is not created: "Unfortunately, we are not able to accept your booking."

 

Note: the blocklist feature does not apply to reservations sent by channel managers, it only applies to reservations created internally in Mews or via the Mews booking engine. 

 
 

How to view a list of blocklisted customers?

 

1. Go to Main menu > Profiles > Customer profiles report.

2. Under Mode, select Created.

3. Under Start, enter the date that you started using Mews.

4. Click Export.

5. Open the report in Excel and sort by the Classifications column to find all blocklisted customers.
