You can use the Mews Operations desktop or mobile applications to read and reply to messages guests send to your property. You can also add colleagues to the conversations to keep them in the loop. This is only available for properties with an Enterprise subscription.
Note:
- Only employees with the Receive guest messages option enabled on their profile can receive guest messages. Then, they can only access the new messages they receive.
- You cannot upload images to messages.

Read and reply to messages
You receive a notification when you get a message from a guest or colleague. To read and reply to the message using:
Desktop
- Click the
Messages icon.
- Click on the new message. Your new message opens in the Messages screen.
- Type your reply in the field at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Enter or click the
icon.
iOS and Android
- Tap Messages.
- Click on the message.
- Tap the message field at the bottom of the screen.
- Type your message.
- Tap the
icon.
Add someone to a message
Mews does not send notifications when you add a member to the conversation, only when someone receives a new message.
To add colleagues to an existing conversation from:
Desktop
- Click the
Messages icon.
- Click the
icon, then click on View all messages.
- Locate the conversation thread you want to reply to on the left side of the Messages screen, then click on it.
- In the Add members field, search for the person or people you want to add to the conversation and click their name.
They can now access the entire conversation and respond.
iOS and Android
- Tap Messages.
- Go to the Internal tab and tap on the message you want.
- Tap the Information icon.
- Under Add members, search for the person or people you want to add to the conversation and click their name.
They can now access the entire conversation and respond.
View linked reservations
You can view the reservations linked to your guests in the desktop application. If the message is from a guest, you can quickly go to the reservations screen to view or update their reservation.
To view linked reservations:
- Click the
Messages icon.
- Click the
icon, then click on View all messages.
- Locate the conversation thread you want to reply to on the left side of the Messages screen, then click on it.
- In the subject field, click the
Reservation icon.
Send messages
You can only send new messages to internal users.
Desktop
To send a message from the Desktop app to internal users:
- Click the
Messages icon.
- Click the
icon, then click on View all messages.
- Click the
button in the bottom left corner.
- In the Members section, in the Add members field, search for the person or people you want to add to the conversation and click their name.
- Type your message in the field at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Enter or click the
icon.
- After you send the first message, you can use the
Edit subject icon to edit the subject.
iOS and Android
To send a message using the iOS or Android apps to internal users:
- Tap Messages.
- Tap the + button.
- Add a title to the thread, and search for the person you want to message.
- Click Create thread.
- Type your message.
- Tap the
icon.
