Understanding the Guest Portal

The Guest Portal is a Mews online check-in, check-out, and messaging portal for your guests. Once a guest books their reservation, Mews sends a Confirmation email with an online check-in link granting access to the portal. From here, they can access it via web, mobile, or tablet and use it to manage their reservations. As a self-service tool, the Guest Portal not only helps your guests but also helps your staff by decreasing time spent at reception and minimizing paperwork. 

Note: The Guest Portal is GDPR compliant. Guests can see the information they share with your property and request to delete or send it back to them at any time.

Online check-in  

Online check-in lets guests manage their reservations before arrival to make check in day as easy as possible.

Guests can use online check-in to: 

  • Pre-fill their own reservation details. 
  • Scan their identity documents.
  • Add a verification photo of themselves to their customer profile, if allowed in your region.
  • Add their companion’s details prior to arrival. 
  • Read your property’s house rules. 
  • Upgrade their space and purchase products to enhance their stay. 
  • Complete and sign their digital registration cards. 
  • Pay their remaining balance ahead of schedule. 

 

Direct guest messaging 

Guests can contact your reception team during any part of their stay via direct guest messaging.

With direct guest messaging, you can: 

  • Read and reply to queries from incoming or current guests. 
  • Add colleagues to an existing conversation. 
  • View linked reservations for more information.  

 

Online check-out 

Online check-out lets guests check out from anywhere via an email link on their phone, tablet or laptop.

Guests can use online check-out to: 

  • Add outstanding items to their bill. 
  • Schedule a departure time. 
  • Edit any incorrect billing details. 
  • Receive bills automatically via email. 
  • Validate and settle the final bill. 
  • Avoid queues at the front desk.
