Configuring channel manager settings to receive reservations with age categories

You can configure and customize up to three different age categories in Mews; the fourth and the default age category being “Adult”. Once you configure your age categories, you can set your accommodation rates based on them. You can learn more about it here.

To receive reservations with age categories through your channel managers and correctly allocate each guest with a respective age category, you need to set up and map them in your channel manager settings. Following is the list of channel managers in alphabetical order, that Mews currently supports:

  • AltoVita
  • Amadeus iHotelier
  • Bakuun
  • Booking.com
  • BookVisit
  • BWH Best Western CRS
  • Choice EDGE CRS
  • D-EDGE
  • DIRS21
  • Expedia
  • Hosteeva
  • Hotel Trader
  • HotelNetSolutions
  • HotelPartner
  • HotelRez
  • MASCH
  • Mirai
  • OpenGDS
  • Profitroom
  • Reservit
  • Seekda (Kognitiv)
  • SHR Central Reservation System
  • SiteMinder
  • SynXis
  • The Hotel Planet / Nuitee
  • Travelbase
  • Travia
  • VerticalBooking
  • Viato
  • Vioma CST
  • Young Global Living

If you are using one of the above channel managers, you can receive reservations containing guests of different age categories provided you set up and map the age categories in your channel manager settings.

Note:

  • Mews has notified other channel managers that are not on this list about the development. However, Mews cannot provide an estimated time when these channel managers can begin supporting age category reservations.
  • The price adjustments that you make for each category in Mews won’t reflect in the channel manager at this time.
  • Maximum possible categories are hard coded by individual channel manager. For example, the number of age categories is two for SynXis and eighteen for SiteMinder, and are hard coded in their API.

To configure your channel manager settings:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  Main menu icon in Mews Operations   > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the channel manager integration you want to map the age categories.
  3. Click Edit > Channel manager age categories.
  4. Map your age categories in the settings page as seen below and click Save.

Note: Make sure to match your age categories as in Mews to correctly allocate guests to their respective age categories.

  1. Under Options, click Use age category in reservations to enable the feature.

  1. Click Save.

This configures your channel manager settings to receive reservations with age categories.
