How to add special links to mail templates

Mews sends emails to guests on your behalf with relevant information regarding their reservations and payments. In Mews, you can build a new template for an existing email from scratch and customize it according to your property’s branding. You can add special links to insert predefined hyperlinks that perform specific functions, for example, adding a guest’s reservation details to their Apple wallet or opening a new chat with your property.  You can delete any customized templates you edit if required or use the default Mews template.

 

To add special links to mail templates:

1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  > Settings > Property > Guest experience > Mail templates.
2. Find the template you want to edit and click Edit.
3. In the template editor, click the text where you want to add a special link and click Special Links.
4. In the new screen, click to select one of the following options:
   • Chat URL: To open the guest's last message thread with your property or start a new chat.
   • Get Directions: To open the property address in the guest’s map application.
   • Contact us: To open a new Guest Portal message so guests can message the property.
   • Manage Reservation URL: To direct the guest to the page where they can check their reservation details. The link expires in 4 weeks or when the reservation ends.
   • Add to Apple Wallet Url: To add the guest's reservation details to their Apple wallet for iOS users.
   • Sign in Url: To link to the Guest Portal.
5. Click Add.
6. Click Preview to preview the email.
7. Click Save and exit to save or click Reset to remove all customizations and revert back to the default Mews templates.

This adds a special link to the mail template.
