Mews sends emails to guests on your behalf with relevant information regarding their reservations and payments. In Mews, you can build a new template for an existing email from scratch and customize it according to your property’s branding. When editing an email template, you can add conditions to rows of content. Conditions help you control which content guests see, for example, only show specific content if the reservation includes cancellation policies or if your property uses a Mews Kiosk. You can delete any customized templates you edit if required or use the default Mews template.
To use conditions to show or hide content:
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Settings > Property > Guest experience > Mail templates.
- Find the template you want to edit and click Edit.
- Click the Rows tab, then in the dropdown, click:
- Empty: To select the default rows without any content. Note: If you add a default row, you need to add content to it before you can create a loop.
- Mews: To select the customized rows with Mews content.
- Drag and drop a row block to insert it into the template.
- Drag and drop a content block to insert it into the template.
- In the side-window, go to Dynamic content and click Select condition. Note: You can also click Add condition to add your own customized content. This is optional and requires knowledge of HTML and its use. For advanced users only.
- In the new window, click Display conditions, then click to select from the following:
- Unless Travel Agency: To only display this row if the reservation does not belong to a travel agency.
- If any extras: To only display this row if the reservation has extras.
- If any cancellations: To only display this row if the reservation has any cancellation policies.
- If Digital Key: To only display this row if the reservation has a digital key available.
- If Kiosk: To only display this row if your property has the Mews Kiosk.
- If enterprise logo: To only display this row if your property’s enterprise logo is available. Mews automatically adds this condition to the customized Property logo row.
- If has custom message: To only display this row if you send the email with a custom message.
- If reservation has directions: To only display this row if your property has directions available.
- Reservation is in Travel Agents: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Travel Agents segment.
- Reservation is in Leisure Groups: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Leisure Groups segment.
- Reservation is in Leisure individual: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Leisure Individual segment.
- Reservation is in Tour Operator: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Tour Operator segment.
- Reservation is in Business Individual: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Business individual segment.
- Reservation is in Student: To only display this row if the reservation is in the Student segment.
- Reservation is in Event Group: To only display this row if the reservation is in the event group segment.
- Click Preview to preview the email.
- Click Save and exit to save or click Reset to remove all customizations and revert back to the default Mews templates.
This shows or hides specific content for guests according to the display condition.
