Token Passport in Mews Operations enables all properties within the chain to share tokenized payment details in the customer profile. Tokenization replaces sensitive payment information, such as credit card numbers, with a secure, random token to protect data.
This facilitates payment processes across multiple properties. Property administrators for all the properties within the chain can set up this feature during initial configuration or when new properties join the chain. You can disable Token Passport at any time. This can be useful for testing purposes or if you no longer require use of the feature.
Note:
- If you do not enable Token Passport across your chain, Mews tokenizes payment details separately per property.
- If you disable Token Passport, perform a review of the legal legislation in your country and update your guest terms and conditions to reflect the change.
To disable Token Passport across your chain:
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Settings > Property. Note: Only an administrator with access to all properties belonging to the same chain can configure this functionality. If you are not an administrator in all properties, contact Mews support to edit the settings.
- Click Payments > General configuration.
- Under Token passport uncheck the Enable token passport box. Note: Mews lists all properties affected.
- Click Save.
This disables Token Passport across your chain. When you uncheck the Enable card token sharing box, Mews removes the tokenized payment details you shared previously and does not share historically shared or future payment details across your chain.
