How to disable online check-in

Online check-in allows your guests to complete and sign registration cards in Online Guest Services prior to their arrival and upload their identity documents. If required, you can disable online check-in by removing the {signInLink} from email templates. Guests can then only check in at reception or via Mews Kiosk.

Note: If you have an email in multiple languages and you want to disable online check-in for all, you need to follow these steps for each language version.

To disable online check-in:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  > Settings > Property
  2. On the left, click on Guest experience > Mail templates
  3. Find the “Confirmation” email template and click Edit.
  4. Under Body template, remove {signInLink} from the code.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Repeat these steps for all emails containing links to online check-in, such as:
    • Automatic settlement failed
    • Online check-in
    • Online check-in reminder
    • Companion invitation
    • Guest email verified
    • Optional booking reminder
    • Payment failed
    • Quotation

This disables online check-in. You can enable online check-in by adding back the {signInLink} code to the emails.
