If you are a property in Belgium and no longer want to use the Peppol electronic invoicing integration through the Mews Compliance Suite, you can disable it directly from the Mews Marketplace. You may want to do this when your property no longer requires electronic invoicing through Peppol, or when you are ending your subscription to the Compliance Suite. Before you disable the integration, you choose between two options: canceling your subscription while keeping read-only access to your historical invoice data, or fully removing the integration.
Warning
- Disabling this integration does not remove your legal obligation to send structured electronic invoices in Belgium. If you disable it, you need to manage e-invoicing through another provider.

Which path to take in practice
The right sequence depends on what comes next for your property.
- If you are switching to another Peppol provider (the legal obligation continues): Follow the sequence export, then cancel, then remove. Export the Fiscal Record Report first, cancel the subscription to stop billing, and remove the integration when you are ready to activate the new provider. Removal is what releases your Peppol registration so the new provider can register it. Until you remove the integration, the new provider cannot register your Peppol ID.
- No longer needing e-invoicing, for example, your property stops invoicing business-to-business in Belgium: Cancelling the subscription is enough. You keep read-only access to your invoice history and you are required to do nothing else.
Option A: Cancel your subscription and retain read-only access
Use this option if you no longer need e-invoicing going forward but still want to view your historical invoice data inside Mews. Note: Cancelling does not release your Peppol registration. If you plan to switch to another provider, see Option B.
-
In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
-
Find the Peppol Registry Integration and open it.
-
Select Cancel subscription.
-
Confirm the cancellation when prompted.
Your Peppol integration is now inactive. Your historical invoice data remains visible inside Mews in read-only access.
Option B: Fully remove the integration
Use this option if you want to completely remove the Peppol integration from your property, or if you are switching to another Peppol provider (removal is what releases your Peppol registration so the new provider can register you). After removal, your historical invoice data is no longer visible inside Mews, but Mews support can still retrieve it for you on request.
Note: Before removing, export your Fiscal Record Report. While the integration is in place, you can export the report like any other report in Mews. After removal, it is no longer available and invoices must be requested via support.
-
In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
-
Find the Peppol Registry Integration and open it.
-
Select Remove integration.
-
Confirm the removal when prompted.
Your Peppol integration is now fully removed from your property.
Note: If you need to access historical invoice data after a full removal, contact Mews support and they retrieve it for you.
With the Peppol integration disabled, no further invoices are sent via Peppol through Mews. Your historical invoice data remains accessible according to the option you chose above.
Frequently asked questions
When does billing stop?
Billing stops at the end of the current billing period after you cancel or remove the integration. You are not charged for the following period.
Does cancelling affect the rest of my invoicing in Mews?
No. Your invoices continue to be issued in Mews as normal. The only thing that stops is the transmission via Peppol.
Can I reactivate the Peppol integration after disabling it?
Yes. To use the Peppol integration again:
- Go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
- Find the Peppol Registry Integration, and subscribe again. Note: Invoices issued during the period without an active subscription have not been sent via Peppol and cannot be sent retroactively.
Can I recover historical invoice data after a full removal?
Yes. Contact Mews support and they retrieve your historical invoice data for you.
What happens to invoices that are queued or failed when I cancel?
The system still sends invoices already queued for sending at the moment of cancellation. Failed invoices must be resolved before you cancel, as the resend action is no longer available afterwards.
I am moving to another provider. Does Mews release my Peppol registration?
Cancelling the subscription does not release it. Removing the integration does. Export the Fiscal Record Report before you remove the integration.
Can I download my full invoice history before removing the integration?
Yes. Export the Fiscal Record Report before removal, the same way you export any other Mews report.
I have multiple properties. Can I cancel for one and keep the others?
Yes. The subscription is managed per property, so you can cancel for one property while keeping it active for others.
