NederlandsReporting for cash registers in Germany is mandatory, effective 01 January 2025. The law states that companies that use electronic recording systems, for example, cash register systems, must report them.
If you purchased your electronic recording systems:
- before 01 July 2025, you must report them by 31 July 2025.
- after 01 July 2025, you must report them within one month of purchase.
For Mews PMS customers: You must report via direct input in the ELSTER form “Mitteilung über elektronische Aufzeichnungssysteme (Paragraf 146a Abs. 4 AO)”.
For Mews POS customers: You can report via direct input in the ELSTER form OR via XML file for upload into Mein ELSTER. You first need to log into your EFSTA portal and follow this step-by-step guide to generate your XML file. Note: EFTSA sends weekly email alerts when it requires updates.
The German Federal Ministry of Finance provided this guide with instructions for completing the form. You must fill the Mews-/TSE-specific information as follows:
