The Occupancy dashboard in Mews Business Intelligence provides insights into how effectively you sell and use your spaces. As a front office manager, revenue manager, or operations lead, you use this dashboard to monitor occupancy trends and optimize both inventory and guest experience.

 

This dashboard provides you with:

  • Occupancy trends: Monitor occupancy % over time, compared with STLY and ST2Y.
  • Occupied spaces and room nights: Track the volume of sold spaces vs available.
  • Guest metrics: Number of guests and average length of stay.
  • Space category analysis: ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy by space type.

  • Data updates every two hours. Check the “last updated” timestamp at the top of the dashboard.

Using the Occupancy dashboard

The Occupancy Dashboard in Mews Business Intelligence is designed for your operations, revenue, and front office teams to track utilization of rooms and spaces, and guest behavior. 

 

It helps you:

  • Monitor occupancy performance: Track daily, monthly, and yearly occupancy levels.
  • Compare against history: Benchmark occupancy against last year (STLY) and two years ago (ST2Y).
  • Analyze space categories: See ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy by room type, for example, Standard, Deluxe, Suites.
  • Understand guest behavior: Track average length of stay and guest volumes.
  • Support planning: Adjust pricing, marketing, and staffing strategies based on occupancy patterns.

 

Key metrics include:

  • Occupancy %: Represents the percentage of occupied rooms in your property at any given time.
  • Occupied Spaces / Room Nights: Number of rooms sold in the period.
  • Number of guests: Total guests staying in the property.
  • Average Length of Stay (ALOS): Average number of nights per guest stay.
  • ADR & RevPAR: Room revenue performance indicators, tracked alongside occupancy.
  • Space Type Performance: ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy broken down by room category.
  • Variance vs. STLY/ST2Y: Occupancy trends compared year over year and two years back.

 

To access the Occupancy dashboard:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menumain menu > Business Intelligence > Overview. 
  2. Locate and click on the Occupancy dashboard.

Data filters

You can refine the Occupancy dashboard data using filters, for example:

  • Select date ranges, for example, daily, weekly, monthly, or YTD.
  • Filter by space type, for example, Standard Room, Junior Suite, Apartment.
  • Apply property filters if part of a multi-property setup.

Data visualizations

The dashboard displays occupancy insights in multiple formats, for example:

  • Occupancy over time graph: Occupancy trends compared with STLY and ST2Y.
  • KPI cards: Occupancy %, Occupied Spaces, Guests, ALOS.
  • Top space category chart: ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy across the 10 highest-selling room types.
  • Detailed space type table: Total spaces, occupied spaces, ADR, RevPAR, and occupancy per type.
