Mews considers reservations that are for thirty days or more as long stays. Long-stay services in Mews do not restrict you to offering accommodation services only. With new space types in Mews, the system also supports services like monthly parking, co-working memberships.

Examples of long-stay services that you can build with Mews to cater for such long stays are:

  • student accommodation,
  • temporary accommodation for relocating corporate employees, or even
  • long-term parking services to businesses around your property, or
  • monthly membership to co-working spaces,

just to name a few.

By default, when booking long-stay reservations, Mews blocks the availability and charges the guests for the full months. To allow guests to book long stays flexibly and pay according to the duration of their stay, enable the Proportional charging of partial months option for your monthly bookable services and their associated products. This way, Mews releases the availability immediately after departure.

The advantages of long-stay services

Long-stay services:

  • Open newer customer segments and unlock new upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase revenue, such as:
    • offering working spaces for resident corporate guests or students,
    • fitness packages,
    • airport transfers for guests with multiple pieces of luggage
    • additional housekeeping and laundry services
  • Are virtually “season-proof” i.e., all year long business for your property, bringing in more stable and predictable revenue.
  • Have less likelihood of cancellations as compared to short-stay guests.
  • Do not require daily housekeeping. You can tailor-make the housekeeping requirements to once per week or two. You can learn more about this here. This also opens the revenue opportunity to offer “On-demand cleaning” service at an additional charge.
  • Services like monthly parking have low maintenance costs, so the entire revenue from it translates as profit.

Future developments regarding long-stay services

In the future, Mews plans to further develop long-stay services to help you better tailor-make your guest’s needs, namely:
