Why can I only issue a Proforma Invoice and not an Invoice?
There can be three reasons why only the Proforma option is available:
- The customer or company profile is not invoiceable.
- The user is missing a privilege.
- The user is trying to invoice a Receivable invoice payment.

The user is missing a privilege
- To issue an invoice, the employee must have enabled the "Issue invoices" permission in their account.
- To turn on and off the invoiceable option, the employee must have enabled the "Turn invoicing off or on for profiles" permission in their account.

The user is trying to invoice a Receivable invoice payment
Receivable invoice payments are generated after issuing an invoice thus they cannot be invoiced, they should be closed against a payment.

If you need to invoice an item that is in the same open bill as the Receivable invoice payment, move it to a separate bill. Learn more on how to Add, move, or remove items from open bills.
