How to configure the webshop online profile in Mews POS

The webshop online profile is what your guests see when accessing digital ordering via a QR code or by visiting your webshop URL. It is an online menu where guests place orders for items for their table or to arrange pickup and delivery of their orders. You configure details on your webshop, such as contact information, appearance and business policies, and Mews POS automatically populates the digital menu with products you sell to guests.

 

To configure the webshop online profile from the Mews POS web dashboard:

  1. Click Webshop.
  2. Click Online profile.
  3. Configure the following general settings:
    • Active: Click the drop-down to select one of the following options:
      • Disabled: Disables the webshop feature entirely, including digital ordering.
      • Inactive: Disables the webshop and digital ordering so it is not visible to customers. Note: You can still configure the webshop and digital ordering while it is inactve. This is useful for building your profile before making it publicly available.
      • Inactive, but visible: The webshop and digital ordering is visible but unable to process orders.
      • Active: The webshop and digital ordering is active and visible and can process orders.
    • pos.mews.com/shops/: Enter the URL guests should use to access your webshop online profile. Note: The system updates the display of the URL as you type.
    • Register for online invoicing: Click the drop-down to select which register issues invoices for the webshop. Note: You can only select registers you have already assigned to the online outlet.
    • Cashier for online invoicing: Click the drop-down to select which user should be assigned to invoices for the webshop. The invoice displays the name of the cashier.
    • Shop Name: Enter the name of the webshop as it appears at the top section of the digital menu and webshop. Note: This applies to the webshop only and does not apply to digital ordering.
    • Language: Click the drop-down to select the language the webshop and digital menu appear in.
    • Tagline: Enter the text which appears underneath the name of the webshop.
    • Description: Enter the text which appears as a welcome message to the guests when they scan the QR code for access on the digital menu. Note: You can also see this text in the About section on the webshop.
    • Address: Enter the first line of your address as it should appear on the webshop.
    • City: Enter the city as it should appear on the webshop.
    • Country: Click the drop-down to select the country as it should appear on the webshop.
    • Email: Enter the contact email for the webshop.
    • Phone: Enter the contact phone number for your webshop.
    • Twitter: Enter the Twitter username for your hotel. The system displays this information on the webshop.
    • Facebook: Enter the Facebook URL for your hotel. The system displays this information  on the webshop.
    • Website: Enter the website URL for your hotel. The system displays this information on the webshop.

  1. Configure the following shipping settings:
    • Shipping price (tax included): Enter an amount the system automatically adds to the cart when a customer places an order with the delivery option selected.
    • Shipping tax: Click the drop-down to select the VAT rate which applies to shipping costs.
    • Free shipping threshold: Enter a price, if the customer order total is over this amount, free shipping applies.

Note: Shipping settings apply to the orders made from the webshop when the customer selects the delivery option. Only items that are eligible for delivery have this option.

  1. Configure the following fields:
    • Terms of service: Enter your terms of service. Note: Terms of service are mandatory to sell using Mews POS webshop and digital ordering.
    • Legal notice: Enter your legal notice.
    • Content to be displayed when no products are configured: Enter the text which appears on digital menus and the webshop when there are no available products for ordering.
    • Shipping information: Enter any relevant information for shipping or your shipping policy, for example, the cost of shipping, the expected delivery time, method of delivery, etc.
    • Pickup information: Enter any instructions for guests who are picking up orders from your location.
    • Returns policy: Enter in your returns and refunds policy.
    • Automatically issue an invoice for each payment: Click the slider switch to enable or disable the automatic generation of an invoice when a customer pays for orders with a credit or debit card. Note: If disabled, the invoice needs to be generated manually with the Create invoice button in the Sales > Orders section of the Mews POS web dashboard.
  2. Configure the following appearance settings:
    • Shop color: Select a color scheme for your webshop.
    • Image: Click SELECT A FILE to upload an image to use as the restaurant logo.
  3. Click SAVE.

You have now configured the webstore in Mews POS. You can view your webstore with the dynamically generated URL which you configured in Step 3.
