Pickup analytics in Mews Operations

Pickup analytics is an interactive dashboard that is part of Mews Analytics. You can use Pickup analytics as a revenue management tool to keep up with shifts in demand, and to plan for the future of your business. It also gives you an overview of room reservations, occupancy, and revenue pickup data.  

 

You can use Pickup analytics to:  

  • Predict future room demand based on historical data and trends, so you can adjust your prices to maximize revenue during high-demand periods. 
  • Monitor the performance of booking channels and identify revenue generators. 
  • Compare pickup trends with competitors to stay competitive. 
  • Measure the impact of marketing campaigns on pickup data. 
  • Optimize staff scheduling and resource allocation based on demand patterns. 
  • Improve revenue forecasts for better budget planning. 

 

To access Pickup analytics, you need:  

  • an Enterprise subscription to Mews OR   
  • to purchase Mews Analytics as an add-on AND 
  • to be either an Admin in your Mews account or have the Access sensitive reports permission. 

Note: Enterprise clients can only use Mews Analytics after they enable the integration for each of their property in the chain.  

 

To access Pickup analytics, in Mews Operations,  

  • go to Main menu Screenshot_2.png  > Analytics > Pickup analytics, or 
  • in the top search bar type in the first few letters of the name of the report, such as “pickup...” and choose the report from the suggested searches

This article gives you a detailed description of all the features, filters, and data available in Pickup analytics and the best way to use them. 

 

In this article, you can learn the following about Pickup analytics:   

The dashboard data represents all pickup data gathered from your property(s). The report bases the data on room reservations, occupancy, and all revenue pickup data.  

 

Note 

  • By default, Pickup analytics includes all revenue types in your property, for example, products and services. You can deselect products to see only service night revenue.  
  • You can set up city tax as a product in your property. You can learn more about city tax here.

 

The dashboard displays data per registered property in Mews for multi-property enterprises.  

 

The system loads data into the dashboard every 12 hours, and data is usually between 8 - 12 hours old. Updated data is available every day at 9:00 UTC and at 21:00 UTC.  

 

Note: The exact time might vary based on the amount of data contained in the update.

  • Last Refresh: UTC timestamp of the last report refresh. 
  • Latest Records: UTC timestamp of the most recent data that the dashboard displays. The dashboard does not reflect any changes in Mews post this time. 
  • Currency: The local currency, as per the dashboard selection. Note: You can select different currencies. The system recalculates to your selected currency, based on actual exchange rates. 
  • Taxation: The taxation type, as per the dashboard selection. For example, Net. Note: You can select different taxation types. You can modify this using the filters.  
  • UserId: The identity code of the user. 

 

Note: The dashboard recalculates all figures in the selected currency based on actual exchange rates. 

 

Pickup analytics displays metrics regarding revenue, room reservations, occupancy, and additional pickup data that Mews Analytics calculates from data across your property(s). You can find different information split between different tabs, where you can filter and view the data displayed for each tab.

The Pickup dashboard gives you an overview of your revenue, ADR, bookings, and nights. Click on the main data sections at the top to show each metric broken down by property, date, rate, and origin.

In this tab, you can view the following fields: 

  • Revenue yesterday: Total revenue collected yesterday.  
    • Revenue by Enterprise: Total revenue by enterprise.  
    • Revenue by Rate Name: Total revenue per rate.  
    • Revenue by Origin: Total revenue per origin. 
    • Revenue Pickup and Revenue Canceled by Date: Total revenue pickup and revenue canceled, organized by date.  
  • Revenue canceled: Total cancelled revenue.
  • ADR yesterday: Yesterday’s average daily rate.  
    • ADR by Enterprise: Average daily rate per enterprise.  
    • ADR by Rate Name: Average daily rate per rate. 
    • ADR by Origin: Average daily rate by origin. 
    • ADR by Date and Enterprise: Average daily rate per date and enterprise. 
  • Bookings yesterday: Total bookings in your property(s) yesterday. 
    • Bookings by Enterprise: Total bookings per enterprise.  
    • Bookings by Rate Name: Total bookings per rate.  
    • Bookings by Origin: Total bookings per origin. 
    • Bookings Pickup and Bookings Canceled by Date: Total bookings pickup and bookings cancelled, ordered by date.  
  • Bookings canceled: Total number of bookings cancelled.  
  • Nights yesterday:  
    • Room Nights by Enterprise: Total room nights per enterprise.  
    • Room Nights by Rate Name: Total room nights by rate name.  
    • Room Nights by Origin: Total room nights by origin. 
    • Room Nights by Date and Enterprise: Total room nights ordered by date and enterprise.  

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menu:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 

 

Pickup Evolution shows you reservations that are confirmed or “picked up” by your guests within the date range you select, ordered by their consumption date. The dashboard shows your reservations by their consumption date, and the revenue they generate. The calendar view is a visual representation of the table; the stronger the shade of blue on any day, the higher the revenue booked.  

 

Pickup evolution is useful to: 

  • Check when all reservations created in the last 7 days are due to be consumed. 
  • Check your occupancy calendar. 
  • Gain insights into how the number of reservations has evolved over time. 
  • Compare pickup data over different time periods to identify patterns and adjust rates based on trends and historical data.

In this tab, you can view the following fields: 

  • Pickup evolution Total: Total value of all reservation pickup data.  
  • Room Nights by Consumed Date: Total number of room nights ordered by their date of consumption. 

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menu, or filter by date created by clicking on the action buttons at the top:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 
  • Created: Select either Yesterday, This Week, or This Month. 

Use the Pickup per week/ per month/ YTD tabs to view your revenue, ADR, and room nights for reservations created this week, month, or year-to-date. The Pickup YTD tab has black arrows pointing up or down, indicating whether your performance has improved or declined.

In this tab, you can view the following fields: 

  • Revenue: Total revenue per week. 
  • ADR: Total ADR data per week. 
  • Bookings: Total bookings data per week. 
  • Room Nights: Total room nights per week. 
  • Room Revenue, ADR and Room Nights per Creation Date: Your room revenue, ADR, and room nights in the last week, ordered by creation date.  

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menu, or filter by date created by clicking on the action buttons at the top:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 

 

Use the Pickup per week/ per month/ YTD tabs to view your revenue, ADR, and room nights for reservations created this week, month, or year-to-date. The Pickup YTD tab has black arrows pointing up or down, indicating whether your performance has improved or declined.

  • Pickup per month: Total pickup data, per month. 
  • Created Date range: The date range you select of reservation pickup data to include. 
  • Monthly overview of pickup data: An overview of pickup data, organized per month.  

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menu, or filter by date created by clicking on the action buttons at the top:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 

 

Use the Pickup per week/ per month/ YTD tabs to view your revenue, ADR, and room nights for reservations created this week, month, or year-to-date. The Pickup YTD tab has black arrows pointing up or down, indicating whether your performance has improved or declined.

In this tab, you can view the following fields: 

  • Revenue YTD: Total revenue from the year to date. 
  • Room Nights YTD: Total room nights from the year to date. 
  • ADR YTD: ADR from the year to date. 
  • Created Date Range: The date range you select to include for creating reservations. 
  • Revenue YTD and Revenue YTD-1 by Created Date: Total revenue from the year to date and the total revenue from the year to date –1, ordered by creation date.  
  • Yearly overview of pickup data: An overview of all pickup data, per year.  

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menu, or filter by date created by clicking on the action buttons at the top:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 

 

The Booking curve tab contains a graph which shows the performance of your property, by ADR, occupancy, revenue, and RevPar.

In this tab, you can view the following fields: 

  • Booking curve: This graph provides insights into the pace and distribution of your reservation data over time. 

You can search for and select specific enterprises to filter your data by clicking on the individual drop-down menus, or filter by ADR, Occupancy, Revenue or RevPar:   

  • Enterprise: Select one or more property(s) of your choice. 
  • Booking Curve: Select to filter by ADR, Occupancy, Revenue or RevPar.

You can apply filters to refine your data in Pickup analytics. This is useful to customize your reports to show specific data, to analyze trends, quickly identify anomalies, and more.

  • Created Date: Filter by creation date.  
  • Cancellation Reason: Filter by cancellation reason.  
  • Consumed Date: Filter by date of consumption. 
  • Rate Name: Filter by rate name.  
  • Space Type: Filter by space type.  
  • Space category: Filter by space category.  
  • Reservation state: Filter by reservation state.  
  • Reservation Origin: Filter by origin of reservation. 
  • Commander Origin: Filter by origin of commander.  
  • Business Segment: Filter by business segment.
  • Partner Company: Filter by partner company.
  • Travel Agency: Filter by travel agency.
  • Include HistoryFilter to include history. 
  • Revenue TypeFilter by revenue type.
  • Taxation Type: Filter by taxation type.
  • Currency: Filter by currency.

You can export certain datasets from different sections of Pickup analytics to Excel, according to your filter selection, to easily view your data. You can learn more about this here. You can also print your dashboard view of the data, per tab, in PDF format by clicking Print in the top right corner.
