How to add products to an existing menu in Mews POS

A well-structured menu makes it easier for staff to take orders efficiently and reduces errors. Adding products to a menu in Mews POS ensures that wait staff use the Mews POS app to quickly find and select the correct items when taking guest orders. You add products directly from the Mews POS web dashboard, assigning them to specific menu sections like drinks, appetizers, or main courses. You update menus anytime to match availability, pricing, or seasonal changes.

Note: Pricebooks do not currently apply to menus and only affect the product shortcut grid prices.  

To add products to a menu from the Mews POS web dashboard:

1. Click Menus.
2. Under Menus. Click   next to the menu name and click Edit.

 

 

3. In the Products side window, you can:

• To add a product to a menu section, click and drag  next to a product.
• To locate products, enter the product name in the Search products box.
• To filter products by type, click  and select the required product type.
  For example, drinks or appetizers.
• To select multiple products for bulk operations, click the check box next to each product. Then drag the multiple products at once into a menu section.

4. To edit a product’s display on the menu, hover over the product and click Edit. A side panel opens where you can override the following details for this specific menu:

• Name: For example, Summer Meat Feast.
• Description: Update the description of the item
• Price: Update the price of the item. Note: The tax display depends on your property’s tax settings.

Note:

1. • Overrides only affect the menu display and do not change the original product settings. You can add the same product to other sections with different overrides if needed.
   • Product variants and bundles do not have the edit option at this time. This is expected behavior.

5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for all products you require on the menu. Note: To delete a product from the menu, click the checkbox next to the product to enable it, and then click .
6. Click and drag  next to the menu section name to re-order the menu sections.

 

 

7. Click Save.

 

This adds the products to the menu in Mews POS.
