How to change the space category assigned to a space in Mews Operations

In Mews Operations, after you create a bookable service, you can then create the necessary space categories, for example, “Standard rooms”, “Deluxe rooms”, “Studios”, to organize your spaces by type, ensuring accurate availability, pricing, and occupancy data. You can then change the space category assigned to a space at any time. This is useful if you need to reorganize your spaces and assign them to different space categories, for example, a deluxe room becoming a standard room.  Only users with Create and manage reservations and Create and manage space categories permissions can change space categories.

Note

  • If you change the space category for a blocked future reservation, the system moves the reservation to a different space that matches the original space category that the guest booked.
  • If you change the space category for a checked in reservation, the system moves the space and the reservation to the new space category.
  • You can view all changes in the Action log

Space category screen in Mews Operations.
