Online check-in allows your guests to complete and sign registration cards in the Guest Portal prior to their arrival and upload their identity documents. You can also provide your guests with the option to enhance their stay when checking in online, by adding products attached to your bookable service. Guests or bookers view these products on the "Make your stay remarkable" step of the online check-in process. This screen is only available for single-reservation online check-ins. If the guest is completing online check-in for multiple rooms, or a room and another service, the Guest Portal skips this screen. This is because products are set-up at the service-level.
You can offer products already attached to the bookable service as well as create a new product to offer in the online check-in process.
To offer products during check-in
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Settings > Services.
- Click the bookable service you want to choose products from.
- Click Products. Then click the product you want to offer through the online check-in.
- In the Product options field, click:
- Offer to customer: To offer the product to guests in the Mews Booking Engine.
- Create a task when added by a customer through online check in: To create a task when a guest selects this product.
- In the Promotions field, click Before check-in to offer the product to guests during online check-in. Note: This option also offers the product to guests during check in on the Mews Kiosk, if applicable.
- Click Update.
Your product is now available to guests checking in online and on the Mews Kiosk. If you clicked Offer to customer in the Product options field, it is also now available in the Mews Booking Engine. Note: To offer a product in the Mews Booking Engine only, deselect Before check-in from step 5 and ensure that the Offer to customer option remains selected.
Promoting your products with images leads to higher conversation. Refer to the example below to see the check in process for guests. Note: The images below are indicative, you can add images of your choice.
If you do not set up any images for the products, guests see the following "Make your stay remarkable" screen:

- If you do not set up any products to add in the online check-in flow, guests do not see this page.
- When a customer adds products during the online check-in, Mews automatically creates tasks, if you set up this action. Set this up in product options, in Mews Operations.
