How to view your Mews POS sales in Mews Operations

Understanding your food and beverage sales on a regular basis can help you make data-based decisions to optimize sales and increase profitability. You can use the Accounting report in Mews Operations for a detailed overview of your revenue, including the Mews POS sales.

 

To view your Mews POS sales in Mews Operations:

  1. Open the Accounting report:
    • on your Mews Dashboard, in the Finance section, click image.png, or
    • go to the main menu  > Finance > Accounting report.
  1. Click to select the following filters in the report:
    • Type: Click to open a drop-down menu, and select Created. Note: The other filter options may provide inaccurate results for the purpose of viewing Mews POS sales.
    • Mode: Click to select how to view the report.
      • Detailed: View each individual revenue item grouped by type.
      • Grouped: View revenue item totals grouped by category.
    • Start: Click to select a start date to restrict results to a specific time period.
      • To ensure the Accounting report is accurate when compared to the Mews POS sales report, the start time of the Accounting report must match the Workday begins at time as you configured within Mews POS. To check the Workday begins at time:
        1. From the Mews POS web dashboard, go to Settings > General
        2. The workday begins at time is displayed under Workday begins at.
    • End: Click to select an end date to restrict results to a specific time period.
    • Group by: Click to select one of the following options. Note: An explanation of the different grouping options is detailed below.
      • Accounting category.
      • Creator.
  1. Click View report.

 

In the Accounting report in Mews Operations, your Mews POS sales, including any tips collected, are split between Revenue and Outlets, 

  • Revenue: Contains the charges sent as Room charge to Mews Operations
  • Outlets: Contains all transactions sent from Mews POS to Mews Operations using any payment type other than room charge. 

 

 

If you select Accounting category as the grouping option,

  • in the revenue section, your sales from Mews POS will appear in the accounting categories, mixed with revenue generated directly in Mews Operations
  • In the outlet section your sales from Mews POS will appear in the accounting categories, mixed with revenue generated by other POS if you have several ones

 

If you select Creator as the grouping option, You can view the total amount of room charges reported by Mews POS under Revenue > Creator > Mews POS.

 

When you use the Detailed mode, you can also expand each item in the Revenue section to view more information about your items and access each customer bill. On each bill you can:

  • View all the items your guest ordered in your outlet, for example, at the restaurant or bar.
  • Access the Mews POS receipts by using the link on your guest bills.

You can view your Mews POS sales data within the accounting report in Mews Operations.
