Receive reservations using the AKIN channel manager for Mews Operations

Property managers and distribution teams use the AKIN channel integration to distribute their properties' rates and availability direct from Mews Operations. You do this when you want AKIN to push reservations into Mews Operations while Mews Operations remains the source of truth for availability, rates, and restrictions. You can set up this integration in the Mews Marketplace.

What the AKIN channel integration does:

The AKIN channel integration has a two-way connection. Mews Operations manages availability, rates, and restrictions, while AKIN pushes reservations into Mews Operations. This means you can update rates, availability, and restrictions from the Mews Marketplace and have those changes reflected across your connected channels.

Note
  • Mews does not set up and configure the channel integration on your behalf. If you encounter any issues fixing the mapping errors within Mews, contact the Mews Support Team for troubleshooting help.
  • Make sure you have a contract with AKIN before you connect this integration.
  • The partner does not support:
    • Guest nationality and language
    • Extras products

You can learn more about AKIN on the AKIN website.

How to receive reservations through the AKIN integration

Step 1: Connect and configure the AKIN integration

To connect and configure the AKIN integration, complete steps 1–3 in Connect your channel manager.

Note: Space category code must contain only numeric values. Rate code supports only the following values: “public_rate” and “CHM_rate”.

Map companies and travel agency contracts (optional)

This step is optional. Complete it only if you want to assign reservations received from the channel manager to a company in Mews Operations.

For each travel agency profile you want to map, complete the steps in How to set up travel agencies.

Map channel manager age categories (optional)

This step is optional. Complete it only if you want reservations from the channel manager to include age category information.

To receive reservations with age categories through your channel manager and correctly allocate each guest to the respective age category, you need to map them in the channel manager age category mapping.

To map channel manager age categories, follow the steps in Configuring channel manager settings to receive reservations with age categories.

Step 2: Test the integration

Testing the integration allows you to check whether you configured the integration correctly. You can test this with a small set of reservations for the next 7 days.

To test the integration, complete step 4 in Connect your channel manager.

Step 3: Enable the integration

To enable the integration, complete step 5 in Connect your channel manager.

This completes the connection and configuration of the AKIN channel integration from the Mews Marketplace. AKIN provides real-time updates of your properties' rates and availability across multiple channels. This means you can now start receiving reservations in Mews Operations from the AKIN channel integration.
