The Booking curve and trends dashboard in Mews Business Intelligence provides insights into how reservations accumulate over time for the dates of stay you select. As a revenue manager, reservations lead, or hotel manager, you use this dashboard to monitor booking pace, cumulative demand, and booking window patterns.

 

This dashboard provides you with:

  • Booking curve analysis: Track cumulative occupancy, ADR, and reservation counts by month of booking creation.
  • Booking window breakdown: Understand how far in advance guests book, segmented by top booking segments or rate plans.
  • Detailed booking trends: Review a monthly breakdown of occupancy, ADR, room revenue, and reservation counts.
  • Drill-through navigation: Click key metrics to navigate directly to the Occupancy, ADR, Revenue, or Reservation Data dashboards.

The Booking curve and trends dashboard shows how reservations accumulate over time, giving you a forward-looking view of occupancy pace and booking momentum for selected dates of stay.

 

Key metrics include:

  • Cumulative occupancy: Running total of occupancy built up through bookings made month by month
  • Cumulative ADR: Average daily rate of all bookings accumulated to date by booking creation month
  • Cumulative reservations: Running count of reservations created, including canceled, by booking creation month
  • Occupancy: Total occupancy for the selected date of stay period
  • ADR: Average daily rate for the selected stay period
  • Room revenue: Total room revenue generated for the selected stay dates
  • Reservations created: Number of reservations made during the selected pickup period, including cancellations

 

To access the Booking curve and trends dashboard:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu main menu > Mews Business Intelligence > Overview.
  2. Locate and click Booking curve and trends.

Note: Data updates every two hours. Check the “last updated” timestamp at the top of the dashboard.

 

The Booking curve and trends dashboard in Mews Business Intelligence is designed for revenue managers and operations teams to monitor booking pace and cumulative demand trends.

 

It helps you:

  • Track booking pace: See how occupancy, ADR, and reservations accumulate month by month for a selected stay period
  • Compare booking periods: Identify which months are ahead of or behind the same period last year
  • Analyze booking windows: Understand how far in advance guests book by segment or rate plan
  • Review detailed trends: Use the monthly breakdown to analyze occupancy, ADR, room revenue, and reservations
  • Navigate to related dashboards: Click metrics to open Occupancy, ADR, Revenue, or Reservation Data dashboards

 

For example, you can identify slower booking months early and adjust pricing or promotions.

 

Data filters

You can refine the Booking curve and trends data using filters such as:

  • Select Pickup period to focus on booking creation dates
  • Select Date of stay to focus on stay periods
  • Filter by segments, for example, OTA, Corporate, Groups, or Direct

 

Common filters in the Booking curve and trends dashboard include, but are not limited to:

  • Date of stay
  • Pickup period
  • Property group
  • Properties
  • Services
  • Space type
  • Space categories
  • Rates
  • Segments
  • Nationality
  • Booking source
  • Reservation status

 

You use these filters to analyze booking pace and demand trends for selected stay dates.

Data visualizations

The dashboard displays booking curve data in multiple formats:

  • Booking curve (visualization switcher):
    • Cumulative occupancy: Line chart showing occupancy growth by booking month
    • Cumulative ADR: Line chart showing ADR changes over booking months
    • Cumulative reservations: Line chart showing reservation accumulation
  • Booking windows (visualization switcher):
    • By top segments: Column chart showing booking lead time by segment
    • By top rates: Combo chart showing reservation counts by rate plan
  • Detailed booking trends table:
    • Monthly breakdown of occupancy, ADR, room revenue, and reservations
    • Click metrics to drill into related dashboards

 

These visualizations help you analyze both high-level trends and detailed booking behavior.
