The Daily summary dashboard in Mews Business Intelligence (Mews BI) provides an overview of your properties' key performance metrics on a daily basis. As a hotel manager or revenue manager, you use this dashboard to track check-ins, check-outs, revenue, occupancy, and other performance indicators. You do this daily to monitor your hotel’s performance and make adjustments as needed. You access this dashboard through Mews Business Intelligence.

 

This dashboard provides:

  • Operational insights: Monitor daily check-ins, check-outs, and ADR to adjust staffing and pricing strategies. 
  • Revenue tracking: Compare monthly and year-to-date revenue for better forecasting. 
  • Occupancy & demand analysis: Manage inventory and pricing proactively based on pickup and occupancy data. 
  • Decision support: Make data-driven decisions regarding promotions, staffing, and pricing strategies.
 

Note

  • The data on the Daily summary dashboard updates every 2 hours. You can check the last updated timestamp at the top of the dashboard to see how recent the data is.

To access the Daily summary dashboard:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu main menu icon > Business Intelligence > Overview. 
  2. In the Curated dashboards section, click on the Daily summary dashboard to open it.

Using the Daily summary dashboard

The Daily summary dashboard displays important metrics that help you understand your properties' daily performance.

 

These metrics include:

  • Average Daily Rate (ADR): The average amount paid per room occupied on a given day.
  • Check-ins and Check-outs: The total number of guests arriving and departing each day.
  • Weekly analytics: Analytics comparing ADR, RevPAR and Occupancy
  • Revenue Performance: The comparison of daily revenue with the previous month or year.
  • Occupancy Trends: The percentage of rooms occupied relative to total rooms available.
  • Pickup Data: Information on new bookings and cancellations for future dates.

 

Each of these metrics helps you monitor your property's performance and identify areas for improvement.

Data visualizations

The dashboard displays data in different formats:

  • Bar charts and line graphs show trends over time for metrics like revenue and occupancy.

Data filters

You can apply filters to refine the data appearing in the Daily summary dashboard and analyze trends.

Filters allow you to, for example:

  • Select specific date ranges, for example, today, this week, or this month.
  • Filter by property groups, if you manage multiple properties.
  • Analyze data by room categories, booking sources, and nationality.
 
 

Common filters for the Daily summary dashboard include, but are not limited to:

  • Date
  • Property
  • Property group
  • Space category
  • Business segment

How to schedule Daily summary reports via email

You can schedule automated Daily summary reports by email to save time. Scheduling reports ensures that key stakeholders receive up-to-date data without needing to access the Mews BI platform directly.

To do so:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu mainmenu > Business Intelligence > Overview.
  2. Open the Daily summary dashboard you want to schedule an export for.
  3. Click More actions > Schedule export in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  4. Click Create new.

  1. Enter the details of your new export:
    1. Select the file format, for example, PDF, Excel, or CSV.
    2. Add the email addresses of recipients.
    3. Choose the frequency, for example, daily, weekly, or monthly, for the report to be sent.
  2. Click Create to schedule the report.

 

This schedules your report to send via email to the recipients you select.
