The Space status section on the Mews Dashboard displays the current status of a space, whether referring to beds, rooms or apartments. You use this section to check the housekeeping status. You can also use the Space status report to easily track the housekeeping status of all the spaces at your property. You need to inspect a space and mark it as Inspected before you can check a reservation into it. To do this, you need the “Perform housekeeping” permission.

In Mews Operations
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Operations > Space status.
- Use the filters to refine which spaces to view in the report. You can read more about the filters in the Space status report here.
- Click on
next to the space or a child space, for example, bed, bed within a dorm.
- Select the space's new status, for example, Clean, Inspected, or Out of service.
In the Mews app
- In the Mews app, tap the Spaces tab.
- Tap the
icon to refine the spaces on the list. Note: You can also directly go to a space by typing the Space number or Name in the search bar.
- To change an individual space status:
- Tap the space to open the Space detail screen. To view child spaces, for example, beds within a dorm, tap the
icon next to a parent space.
- Status: Tap to select a new status.
- Reason for state: You can provide a reason for a change in housekeeping status that you can view in the Space status report.
- Tap Save.
- Tap the space to open the Space detail screen. To view child spaces, for example, beds within a dorm, tap the
- To change space status in bulk:
- Long-press any space.
- Tap to select the spaces you want to change, then tap
.
- Status: Tap to select a new status.
- Tap Save.
This changes the space status through the Mews app.
You can also swipe on the room you want to update and select the new status of the room.
The refresh icon allows you to receive the latest updates on space statuses. You can also touch the screen and pull down to refresh.
