You use segments to classify reservations by attributes relevant to your operations, such as traveler type, or whether the reservation is a group or individual. You can assign segments to travel agencies, channel managers, rates, and services. This allows you to gather statistical information about segments from reports, such as the Reservation report, to identify trends and target customers more effectively.
Depending on your needs, you can create
- direct segments, such as country of origin or reservation purpose, or
- indirect segments, such as pricing classification, or reservation source.
After you create a business segment, you can adjust your settings to:
- Allow employees to assign segments when they create reservations
- Automatically apply certain segments by default
Note: You can search segments in the search field at the top of the screen.
