How to deal with cancellation fees?

How to apply a cancellation fee

 

  1. Navigate to the reservation screen > status tab.
  2. On the cancellation section tick the Apply cancellation fee.

Note: cancellation fees are not charged automatically. The charge must be done manually.

 

 

How to remove a cancellation fee that has been applied

 

Remove a cancellation fee via the items tab:

 

  1. Navigate to the reservation screen > items tab.
  2. Click Cancel next the cancellation fee.
  3. If an error pops up, the item is outside the editable history window. Learn how to set up your editable history window.
 

Remove a cancellation fee via the billing screen:

 

  1. Navigate to the reservation screen > Billing tab.
  2. Locate the item you want to remove and click the More icon in Mews Operations  icon next to your bill item.
  3. Select Remove item. You can learn more about removing a single item from an open bill here.

 

 

 

Why does the "Apply cancellation fee" option not work?

 

Automatic cancellation fees depend on the Cancellation policies of the rate's rate group:

 

  • If the cancellation fees are not applied, check if the rate is within a rate group with a cancellation policy set up. 
  • If the cancellation fee works but the amount is incorrect, check the setup (dates, values, etc.) of your cancellation policy.

 

Create, modify, or delete a cancellation policy.
