Quick lock or unlock your user account

You can quickly lock or unlock your user account in Mews. This is useful if you're sharing a computer with other users, so you can securely lock and switch between user accounts, while still securing any sensitive data.

 

You can also create a PIN code as a faster method to enter your user account. You can learn more about other security settings for your user account here.

Lock your account

    To lock your user account: 

    1. In Mews Operations, click the user account icon at the top right to open the drop-down menu.
    2. Click

     After you lock your account, you can unlock it with your password or PIN. If you don't create a PIN code, you need your password to unlock. If you sign in with a different account and then lock it, you can quickly switch between the accounts on the lock screen. 
     

    Unlock your account

    You can unlock your Mews user account with: 

    • Your password, or 
    • A PIN code, or
    • SSO. Note: Your property needs to have SSO enabled. You can learn more here

    Creating a PIN code for your account means you can unlock your account quickly, without needing to enter your password. This is useful, for example, when you need to regularly lock and unlock your user account or share a device with other team members.

    Unlock with SSO

    If you have Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled for your property, you can unlock your user account with SSO. You can learn more about setting up SSO for your property here.  

     

    To do so:  

    1. On the locked screen for your Mews user account, click Unlock with SSO.
