Why can't I create a new reservation?

Why can't I create a new reservation?

There are three main reasons why you can't create a reservation:

Restrictions

User permissions

Editable history window

Restrictions

A restriction is set up for the selected day and prevents you from creating a new reservation.

In the new reservation screen click on Restricted to be redirected to the restriction details. Contact the user who created the restriction for more information.

Employee permissions

Contact your Manager to check if you have the user permission Create and manage reservations

Managing user roles and permissions.

Editable History Window (EHW)

If your check-in time is, for example at 3 pm, and your Accounting and Operational editable history windows are set to 7 hours, you can't create any same-day reservations after 10 pm.

The reason is that a night is considered as consumed at the time of check-in, and after 7 hours you cannot add any new nights as, according to your EHW, they are being created in the past.

This applies to reservations created manually in Mews Operations or by the guests in the Booking Engine. It doesn't apply to Channel Manager reservations.

To change it, you need to extend the EHW, but always check with an Administrator for the reason of the windows being so short.

Note: If the EHW is the reason you can't create a reservation, the following message on the Availability section pops up: No public rates available.
